Bible Society Queensland targets porn lovers at Sexpo

According to this article, "Bible Society Queensland members plan to attend Sexpo to hand out 5000 copies of the originally titled "Jesus Loves Porn Stars" Bible."

The sentiments behind their efforts are good and I am sure God uses their efforts to win people for Christ.

I do, however, have a small gripe: whereas it is common for Christians to say God loves everyone, just not their sins, this appears to me not to be Biblically accurate. Sinners are God's enemies and although God, through common grace, gives everyone more than they deserve, He does not love everyone, at least salvifically. Why should He?

I think Robert Morey has it right in this clip:

Christian cure for homosexuality

Today the SMH online published an article titled "Christian cure for homosexuality."

It can be accessed here: http://www.smh.com.au/news/lifeandstyle/lifematters/christian-cure-for-homosexuality/2009/02/27/1235237879839.html?page=fullpage#contentSwap2

I should say at the outset that there is no "Christian cure" for homosexuality. Homosexual practice is sinful by Biblical standards and homosexuality occurs in the context of a fallen world. But the Bible is not a therapeutic manual and so Christian organisations whose focus is on homosexual rehabilitation must try to thread together Biblical principles with therapeutic tools.

Whereas I affirm regeneration by the Holy Spirit and the efficacy of prayer, I do not know whether God's decretive will for all of the elect is that they be healed of any homosexual feelings.

Having said that, this part of the article is telling:

"You've probably realised by now I have no intention of yielding my life to Jesus or repenting my "sin"."

1. The unregenerate hate God and His standards. They refused to bow the knee to Scripture. The author is simply stubborn in her rebellion and her entire view is tainted by her hatred of God. If you do not want to be changed, it won't be a surprise to anyone if you aren't.

2. The unregenerate trivialise sin, even re-characterising it as acceptable practice according to their own sinful standards.

3. The author is in a sexual relationship with a trans-sexual person, born a man but who has undertaken gender transformation surgery. It is as if the God-hating nature of the author is blind to the dysfunction and perversity of the entire affair.

Isn't it funny how the secular press only want to publish tales of those who either:

1. Are not serious with their battle with homosexual feeling; or

2. Are failures in their struggle with homosexuality and are content to wallow in their sin.

You never hear the voice - of which there are many - of those whose testimony is that their homosexual desire has been changed.
